A Selective Analysis of Conservation Training for the Public Sector in the Andes-Amazon Region
OTS undertook a characterization of the scale and distribution of the audiences within the public sector who impact biodiversity conservation, particularly through protected areas (PAs), within Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, and the Amazonian States of Brazil. The study focused on whether current access to training opportunities within each country is likely to adequately address these different public sector positions’ responsibilities related to PAs. The overall goal of the study was to support future conservation investment decisions in the Andes-Amazon region with respect to capacity building, primarily at the level of individuals within the public sector.
